Things I’d Like to Write About

1. Lighthouses. In particular the lighthouse in Tilamook Bay.
2. Beekeepers. I’ve always wanted to write about Brother Adam, a monk who kept bees and lived to be 95.
3. Pinkerton detectives. Amazing role in the labor struggles of the 19th century.
4. Copper mining.

What about you?

  1. 1) My grandfather who, during the Great Depression, traversed the country working a series of odd jobs before marrying my grandmother and lumberjacking for the Army during the Second World War. He also had a knack for identifying the exact geographical region a person was from by the person’s accent, and I don’t mean broadly like “oh, you’re from the south” but he could nail the exact state and sometimes even a specific region within the state.

    2) I’d also like to write about the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921

    3)The Spanish Civil War.

    4) Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

    5) Baseball.
