It’s hard to deal with — this election depression that I’ve got going.
I mean: Forces of racism and extremism have taken over the public discourse on the Internet. The Internet is our media, now, and it has become something terrible and disheartening.
It’s hard to remember how happy we were in 2008, when the country — our country — elected Barack Obama. But perhaps this was just what conservatives like the Koch brothers wanted? To mobilize vast swaths of racists like they haven’t been mobilized since Father Coughlin.
Where are the young people? Where are the voices of tolerance — especially for Muslims — in this great nation of ours?
